Spoke w/ Corky today at Bell engineering and he suggested switching off the O2 sensor when boost hits 3psi. The theory behind this is for the O2 sensor not to tell the CPU to lean out the mixture (because that is part of its job) it sounds good, but isnt this a recipe for codes out the ass?
He went on and said if this works put in a boost triggered switch to do it for you.
Has anyone heard of this or tried it?
Has anyone gone from 10psi to 8.5psi?
Is the 1.6 v more driveable and less prone to detonate?
Has anyone tried the Jackson Water INJ?

The O2 sensor does not effect anything when you are on the throttle hard anyway. Once you reach past the half-way point, the O2 sensor is off and the ECU goes into closed loop operation. The ECU now goes off of fuel maps based on MAP, IAT, and TPS, and does no corrections based on O2 readings. Thus, when you are in boosted range with the throttle, the O2 sensor is basically inactive anyway.

The theory has some merit. There's boost in the midrange at less than 50% throttle.
I'd add to that theory the fact that the timing's probably too agressive at part throttle.

Vtec Geek, At part throttle it is in closed loop? I thought it was only when your in it?
